Web-Based CheckMate Equipment & Tool Tracking Software for Windows
CheckMate Equipment and Tool Tracking now offers a web browser option, available as an upgrade from the multiuser LAN version. CheckMate allows the remote user to make transactions, do lookups, and run reports from any computer with a browser.
The web-based version is an add-on, not a replacement for the LAN version. The minimum software required on a web user’s computer is a browser – Internet Explorer 5 or 6, or Netscape 6 or 7. Plugins are available for IE and Netscape to enable local label printing and to support portable data collection.
The user must provide a server which can be reached by the users over:
The internet
VPN
WAN
LAN
Even dialup
Web users can perform the same activities as local users:
Check in
Check out
Set due date
Reserve
Store
Lookup
They can scan data in with a wedge bar code reader. They can search for equipment or a tool by name, ID, bar code, or other keys. They can add and update tools and badges. They can run the same reports, and create custom queries with output to the browser window or downloaded file. If desired, CheckMate can be customized to reduce the functionality available to remote users.
A user must enter a usercode and password to log into the CheckMate server. The system administrator can set up a different filter for each usercode, so that different users can be prevented from seeing each other’s data.
