Web-Based CheckMate Tool Tracking Software with NetSync
The NetSync option for CheckMate Tool Tracking lets multiple sites, running their own local copies of CheckMate, synchronize their data over the internet. Each site will know where every tool is, even if it is half a world away.
CheckMate NetSync consists of a SOAP server to be installed at one CheckMate site and a SOAP client to be installed at the others. Any master record added at one site, e.g. stock or badge, is automatically added at the others. Any event taking place at one site, e.g. checkout or destruction, is automatically posted at the other sites.
Each site runs single user or multi user CheckMate and the SOAP client. The server site runs CheckMate, plus the SOAP server and Microsoft IIS. At intervals set by the user, each site exchanges updates with the server over the internet. After two complete cycles, an update entered at one site has propagated to every other site.
Filters can be set by table, row, or column. For example, if the badge table is excluded from synchronization, then all sites track all Tools, but badges added at one site are not distributed to other sites. And a filter can be set by badge, so that checkouts by some badges are published, while checkouts by other badges are not.
If the internet connection is down, requests from the clients are not received by the server, and no data is transferred. Once connection is restored, requests will be received and processed again. Following the down time, all unsent data is still there, still satisfying the conditions to cause sending, so recovery happens automatically.
At last, a practical way to track Tools throughout a geographically distributed organization!
